Conversation Café

Nelson Community Food Centre will be hosting a Conversation Café on Wednesday, September 23 from 1-3 pm.  The first in our Café series, we’re bringing the topic of advocacy to the table!

We thought a great place to start would be with a guest from Nelson’s Advocacy Centre, Amy Taylor.

This is a free event, open to everyone, with no pressure to participate in conversation.

What’s on the Menu:

Amy will share how The Advocacy Centre offers one-on-one support, information, representation, and referrals around topics such as:

• Income Assistance and Disability Benefits
• Community-Based Victim Services
• Legal Aid/Legal Resources
• Tenant Rights
• Family Law

Amy will answer any questions you may have about these topics, how to access The Advocacy Centre, and more!  We’ll have time left for general discussion and socializing.

There will be coffee generously donated by Oso Negro, a selection of tea, and snacks, including locally baked goods and a veggie platter made from our garden.
