OVERVIEW
Our Community Meals happen at least once a week, currently Tuesdays, 3-6 p.m. The meals, we call them the Gathering Table, are a delicious and healthy way for people to enjoy well balanced, healthy foods while connecting with their friends and neighbours. Many of the folks we welcome to the Gathering Table also participate in our Good Food Bank and other programs. The weekly menus vary and feature culturally appropriate foods reflective of our growingly diverse population in Nelson. The idea is to showcase good food that’s good for you, while being economical and tasty at the same time. Many of the ingredients used are also offered in our Good Food Bank.
In addition to our Gathering Table offering on Tuesdays, a light meal is also served at our Good Food Bank, every other Wednesday, 1-4 p.m.. And to celebrate the equinoxes or solstices every quarter, we have a bigger meal (we call it a feast) that includes something a little extra and celebratory.
